Poole’s Cavern is open daily, regular tours each day. Closed Christmas, Boxing and New Years Day. All tours are with our enthusiastic guides on a 45-minute journey through the magnificent underground passages, rich in stalactite and stalagmite formations, legend and history. We are an all-weather, accessible, family & dog friendly attraction. We are the first Showcave to be featured on Google Streetview; you can explore our virtual tour of the cave at your own pace.

IMPORTANT BOOKING INFORMATION
All cavern tours must be booked in advance online. We cannot guarantee entry for walk up visitors.
Group sizes are limited to allow for social distancing and space to see the cavern and hear the guide.
Tours start promptly at the booked time. Please arrive in good time and enjoy our cavern exhibition before the tour starts, we cannot guarantee entry for late arrivals. We cannot refund tickets for late arrivals.
This visitor attraction is still Covid cautious. Tours are running at reduced capacity and hand sanitizer stations remain in place. Face mask use is optional.

It's called a Gift Aid visit and it makes a massive difference to attractions like Poole’s Cavern and Buxton Country Park. Just ask at the pay desk to complete a quick Gift Aid declaration form, there's nothing extra to pay and as a thank-you we will give you free admission for a year (special events not included).
Your extra money will go towards local woodland conservation and heritage projects.
Important Info
Cavern tours are accompanied with a guide at all times.
Tours leave from the visitor centre exhibition area.
The Cavern tour is approximately 45 minutes underground.
The temperature underground is a constant 7° centigrade, 44 fahrenheit.
There are 28 steps in the Cavern no more than 10 in one place.
Pushchairs and child buggies are permitted in the cave.
There are just two low points. One located at the entrance and one located by the first set of steps. Both low points are clearly marked with 'Mind Your Head' signs.
As of 2024 we will now be a dog friendly attraction. All our standard guided tours will be Dog Friendly, although limited to 6 dogs per tour. If you have any special requirements please call us on 01298 26978 or email info@poolescavern.co.uk to enquire.
