The Long View
The View From The Bridge
The view down the cave from the bridge is spectacular. From here you can gaze back down one of the largest natural cave chambers in the Peak District, 130m (400ft) to the Roman Chamber.
Notable features here include the rimstone pools, or gours, formed by calcite-laden rainwater flowing over standing boulders and the 2m (6.5ft) stalagmite named The Font, or Wedding Cake, resplendent with two relatively recent, miniature stalagmites on top.
